Tony Q.S. Quek on April 22, 2019

At the invitation of School of Microelectronics and Communication Engineering, Chongqing University, Professor Tony Q.S. Quek of Singapore University of Science and Technology and Design made a wonderful academic report in room 515 of the main teaching building on the morning of April 22, 2019. A number of teachers and students from the information science department attended the meeting.

Before the academic exchange conference, Professor Zhou Xichuan, vice dean of the School of Microelectronics and Communication Engineering, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school

Tony Q.S. Quek is currently a member of the executive editorial board of IEEE Transactions on wireless communications, distinguished lecturer of IEEE communication society, IEEE fellow, winner of the 2008 Philip Yeo Research Excellence Award, 2012 IEEE William R. Bennett award, 2017 CTTC early achievement award and multiple Best Paper Awards. Mainly engaged in wireless communication and network, security, big data processing, network intelligence and IOT research. Editor of IEEE signal processing journal, IEEE wireless communication journal, IEEE Transactions on communications and other international academic journals. He has published "mall cell networks: deployment, PHY techniques, and resource allocation" and "cloud radio access networks: principles, technologies, and Applications".

The topic of Tony Q.S. Quek's report is "augmented intelligence for future networks & Communications". Tony Q.S. Quek introduced the latest breakthroughs in artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as the significance of artificial intelligence technology for future driverless systems, intelligent mobile networks and intelligent Internet of things. Then, Tony Q.S. Quek shared his research work on enhancing network intelligence in future networks and systems. In the report, the teachers and students actively asked questions and spoke, and had a heated discussion with Tony Q.S. Quek. The atmosphere was very harmonious and active.

The report and the discussion with the teachers and students of our school made us gain a lot. After the seminar, the two sides exchanged research meeting points, in order to carry out in-depth and detailed cooperation in the follow-up.
